Rachel Roupp is a poet from the mountains of Pennsylvania. She graduated from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania with a BA in English Literature. Rachel completed her MFA in Creative Writing and was awarded Best Thesis in Poetry. Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Crab Fat Magazine, Chantwood Magazine, Mind Murals, Persephone’s Daughters, Honey & Lime, Rust + Moth, and Rag Queen Periodical, where she served as the Social Media Coordinator.
Rachel won 1st place in the 2017 EAPSU poetry contest for her poem “Seamstresses.” She was also the recipient of the 2017 Bernie Koloski Book Award for Outstanding Achievement in American Literature and the 2016 Ann Mabe Book Award for her work in Women’s Studies. Rachel was also awarded the 2018 Sigma Tau Delta Eastern Regent Scholarship and the Spring 2019 Sand Hills Prize in Poetry.
